RGS Students Visit Battlefields to Commemorate Start of WW1

To commemorate the 100th anniversary of the start of the First World War the Government paid for two students and one teacher from every state-funded school in the country to visit the battlefields of the Somme, museums and cemeteries. This was part of an initiative to bring the war to life to pupils in schools today.

To choose the two delegates from RGS, Year 8 were asked to write a letter explaining why they should be chosen. We received a lot of great entries but the two winners were Eve Szcelkun and Abby Pope whose letters you can see by clicking on the images below.
