Redland Green School

RGS Bristol

End of Year 2018

Dear Parents

We are delighted to announce that, on 1 July 2018, Ashton Park, Ashton Vale, Compass Point and Luckwell schools successfully converted to academies and joined Redland Green School to form  the Gatehouse Green Learning Trust. We have proudly received our final confirmation letters from the Department for Education this week.

We look forward to working collaboratively to deliver excellent education and enhanced opportunities for all our young people.  Thank you all for your valued support during this process.

We are sorry to have to say goodbye to the following staff who are leaving to work elsewhere and thank them for all they have done to support your children while working here at Redland Green School.

We must also thank Mrs Hodgkinson who will be leaving Redland Green Library after working with us tirelessly since we opened in September 2006. She has grown this resource base for all ages from nothing and it continues to be a thriving buzzy destination for all our students. I know she has all sorts of exciting plans for the next stage in her life and we all wish her well for the future.

Mr Lawrence who was Assistant Headteacher and DT teacher was seconded to the local authority in February 2018 as a deputy headteacher for Hope Virtual School for children in the care of Bristol City Council. He has been so successful they have asked him to stay permanently and, while we will miss him greatly, he is already making an impact on the lives and wellbeing of some of the most vulnerable children in the city.

We wish them all well in their new roles and thank them for their contributions to our community.

Finally I would like to thank you for all your support for your children and the school and wish you a restful and safe holiday.

Ms Sarah Baker

Headteacher
