‘Future Brunels Scheme’ at the ss Great Britain, Enrichment Programme

Redland Green School has been fortunate enough to be chosen as one of only three schools in Bristol to participate in an exciting new education project in association with the ss Great Britain Trust.

The ‘Future Brunels Scheme’ will take 3 three students from Year 7 on a 5 year enrichment programme at the Brunel Institute, based at the ss Great Britain. The scheme aims to foster and develop students’ interest in science, technology, engineering and maths (STEM) and to inspire the students to follow in the footsteps of Isambard Kingdom Brunel himself.

The selected students will spend two days per term at the Brunel Institute over the next 5 years. The programme will include learning about scientific method, the role of science in everyday life and the potential for science to find solutions to world problems. The students will also be taken on a science related trip each year, the first of which is planned for Thorpe Park to learn about the science and engineering of roller coasters.

If you are interested in being selected to take part is this excellent opportunity, please read the leaflet about the programme and the selection process document, both of which are attached below.
