Gang Green Update April 2012

During the Co-op’s Green Revolution Week in March, Gang Green organised a seminar on climate change and our future. It was run in conjunction with our local sustainable groups, Redland, Bishopston and Westbury-on-Trym.

We showed a film called Beyond the Brink, which was directed by a young film maker documenting his take on climate change and what it means to us. To watch the film click here.

After the film we collected ideas on Our vision for the future’ focusing on 4 main areas of life; energy, waste and food, community and transport. Many exciting ideas were shared. We all decided that action is what makes the difference, so we discussed ways in where we could all contribute and came up with 4 pledges that we all had to commit to.

The seminar was a success and Gang Green hope they will continue working with local sustainable groups to make a real difference not only to our community but also to our planet.

We hope you will join in and pledge too!

Our pledges: We will...

Social: make regular 'green' tweets

Community: tell one person about the film Beyond the Brink and climate change issues

Work/school: cycle or walk 2 days a week

Home: save water...actively seek to promote pledges through the use of community boards
