Meet our New North Bristol Post 16 Centre Director...

...Marian Curran

Marian joined the North Bristol Post 16 Centre at the beginning of this term as our centre Director, having previously worked at Wootton Basset School in Wiltshire for over seven years.

Marian studied at Oxford where she obtained her degree in Theology. After working for a number of years, including two years teaching English as a second language in Japan, she studied for her Masters in Sociology, Politics and Economics.

In the early part of her career, Marian worked with people in care and in various inner city London schools teaching Sociology, Religious Education and History.  As her career developed, she gained more responsibility becoming head of department in various schools as well as an Oxbridge mentor.

Marian was Head of Sixth Form at Wootton Bassett School and also the school's International Baccalaureate Co-ordinator. Whilst at the school, her areas of responsibility included the Gifted & Talented Programme and Personalised Learning. Marian is very keen to nurture international interests and links; while at Wootton Bassett, she co-ran a World Challenge trip to South Africa.

Marian is looking forward to working with all the schools in the partnership to deliver outstanding post 16 education for the students of North Bristol.
