RGS Celebrates UKMT Maths Challenge Success

On Tuesday, 6 November 38 students from Year 12 and Year 13 took part in the Senior Maths Challenge set by the UK Mathematics Trust. The challenge was very difficult and involved solving a range of mathematics problems.

‘Best in School’ Cameron achieved a high score of 101 – an outstanding result.   7 of our students received a Gold Award, 10 received Silver and 5 received a Bronze.

Due to their excellent achievement, Cameron and Amy were invited to sit the follow-on competition, British Mathematical Olympiad and Ben and Elie were invited to sit the Senior Kangaroo paper.  Results of this challenge are expected later on in the New Year.

Over 98,000 students from across the UK entered the Senior Maths Challenge with the top 10% receiving a Gold certificate, the next 20% Silver and the next 30% Bronze.
