RGS Ranked as One of the Best State Schools in Bristol

According to the Department for Education annual performance tables, Redland Green is ranked as the second best performing state school in Bristol, with 82% of our students achieving 5+ A*-C grades including maths and English.

We were only beaten by Colson Girls School whose students achieved an 83% 5+ A*-C grades incl. maths and English pass rate.

We were also ranked second in Bristol in terms of our value added score*. The national average value added score is 1,000 and Redland Green’s score is 1,041.7. Significantly higher than the national average. Bristol Metropolitan Academy has the best Value Added score in Bristol (1077.9).

*Value added (VA) scores including English and maths bonuses which measure the progress made by pupils from the end of KS2 to the end of KS4 using their best 8 exam results.

Overall in Bristol the number of students that achieved 5+ A*-C grade GCSEs has risen to 55%. This is against a national downward trend. This outcome is the result of several years’ hard work and continued improvement in Bristol schools.
