RGS Student Wins Wildlife Photographer of the Year Music Competition…

Running from 19 February to 5 June at Bristol Museum and Art Gallery, the Wildlife Photographer of the Year exhibition attracts over 40,000 visitors a year. As part of this year's exhibition the Museum ran a competition for amateur and professional musicians to compose a short piece of music inspired by one of three images from the exhibition.

The Three Images

It Came from the Gloom © Thomas P Peschak

Fire on the Pantanal © Bence Máté

Giant Beachcomber © Patrik Bartuška

The competition received over 60 entries, with one of our Year 11 students entering. Will, Snow House, composed a piece of music for the Giant Beachcomber image. We are pleased to announce that Will ended up being chosen as the Under 18 winner for this image. Well done Will!

Will’s piece of music was played at a recent special winner’s event, and is being played inside the exhibition as well as being available to download from the Bristol Museum Soundcloud and Myspace.
