RGS celebrates UKMT Maths Challenge Success

On Thursday, 2 February 156 Mathematics students from Years 9, 10 and 11 took part in the UK Intermediate Maths Challenge set by the United Kingdom Mathematics Trust. The challenge was very difficult and involved problem solving of a range of mathematical situations.

‘Best in School’ Jethro (Year 11) achieved a high score of 105 – an outstanding result. Sixteen of our students received a gold award, twenty-eight received a silver award and thirty-four received a bronze.

Due to their excellent achievement, Year 11 students Jethro, Karis, Megan and Year 10 students Alice, Fraser, Archie, Daniel and Arnold qualified through to the next round of this competition (IMOK), which will take place on Thursday, 17 March.  We wish these students the very best of luck in this Higher National Competition!
