Redland Green School Welcomes Sir David Attenborough and his Film Crew!

On Tuesday (21 May 2013), Redland Green School was honoured and privileged to welcome Sir David Attenborough to the school. He visited the school, along with his film crew from Humblebee Films, to film a section for the second series of Natural Curiosities, which will be shown on UKTV’s Eden Channel in the autumn.

This visit from Humblebee Films and Sir Attenborough came through some work that Ms Bott, our Head of Science, did a few years ago with one of the producers, Sharmila Choudhury, which linked Sir Attenborough’s work to the National Curriculum. When Humblebee needed a lab setting for this piece of filming they rang Redland Green School!

After filming finished Sir David spent some time talking to our Post 16 science students, and being photographed with them, who were all delighted to meet him and the film crew! What a fantastic opportunity for them to meet one of our country’s greatest broadcaster and naturalist!
