Success in Team Maths Challenge

On Thursday, 8 October, eight brave Year 10 RGS students journeyed to Queen Elizabeth Hospital School to compete in the second Year 10 & 11 Bristol Team Maths Challenge, facing very stiff competition from 20 teams of Year 10s & 11s from all over Bristol. Beating teams from Clifton College, Badminton School, Clifton High, The Cathedral School, St Mary Redcliffe & Temple School, and Cotham School, RGS Team A were in the lead until the final fourth round where they were pipped at the post by QEH and Bristol Grammar. Coming away with Bronze against such opposition is an achievement for which they should be very proud. RGS Team B did almost as well, just missing out on a Countdown Round in coming joint third. This performance bodes very well for future years when we will hope to have a team in the top two, who will then qualify for the national finals.
