UKMT Junior Maths Challenge Success for RGS

Recently 124 students from Year 7 and Year 8 took part in the UK Junior Maths Challenge set by the UK Mathematics Trust.  The challenge was very difficult and involved problem solving of a range of mathematical situations.

Particular congratulations go to Harry (Year 8) who was awarded ‘Best in School’ after achieving a high score of 112.  14 of our students received a Gold Award, 31 Silver and 35 Bronze in this year’s UKMT Junior Maths Challenge, which saw over 235,000 pupils from across the UK sit this important National challenge.

Due to their excellent high scores both Harry and Edward qualified through to the next round (Junior Maths Olympiad), which took place in June.

Well done to all students who participated and congratulations to all students that were awarded certificates.

The Junior Maths Challenge and Junior Maths Olympiad is run by the UK Mathematics Trust and aimed at those in Year 7 and Year 8.
