UKMT Maths Challenge Success for RGS

On Thursday, 3 February 155 Mathematics students from Years 9, 10 and 11 took part in the UK Intermediate Maths Challenge set by the United Kingdom Mathematics Trust. The challenge was very difficult and involved problem solving of a range of mathematical situations.

I am pleased to announce that Christopher (Year 11) was awarded ‘Best in School’ after achieving a high score of 107 – an outstanding result. 20 of our students received a Gold Award, 38 received a Silver Award and 35 received a Bronze.

Due to their excellent achievement, Christopher, Cameron, Joe, Thomas, Max, William, Sophie, Carmel, Daniel, James, Fraser, Alice and Charlotte qualified through to the next round (IMOK) which took place in March. The results of this Higher National challenge are expected soon.

Well done to all students who participated and congratulations to all the students that were awarded certificates.
