We Day: 7 March 2014

We Day is a day of celebration and inspiration for young people organised by the charity Free the Children.

Free the Children encourages young people to make a change in the world, locally and globally and We Day is about empowering a generation of young global citizens through this inspirational event and a year-long educational initiative.

Due to the dedication of our students we were fortunate to be able to take 16 students to the event on 7 March. Malala Yousafzai, Al Gore, Prince Harry, Ellie Goulding, Dizzee Rascal and Sir Richard Branson led the all-star cast at Wembley Arena for the first We Day UK.  Prince Harry told the audience it was a "privilege" to be standing in front of them and that "every one of you has done something amazing to be here." Our students were thrilled to hear Malala speak and want to celebrate Malala Day in April with a campaign of consciousness raising about girls’ education.
