Where does Redland Green School sit amongst the Top 500 Best Schools in the UK?

**STOP PRESS**

November 2014

This year RGS was not included in the data that was used to compile The Sunday Times Top 500 Schools in the UK. We thought it would be interesting to see where we sit amongst the ‘Best Schools’ in the Country so we looked at our data and worked it out!

According to our Data Manager, Mr Saunders, The Sunday Times ranking is based on the % of A*-B grades at A level and A*-A grades at GCSE, with the A level result being double weighted.

However this table is only measuring the raw results and it tells us nothing about the students' level of attainment on entry. We know many of our students come into Redland Green having achieved very good scores in their primary schools. To us the most important measure is the progress our students make from their starting point and we are proud to be able to say that students at RGS regularly exceed the national averages for progress.

As a final note, we have been in touch with The Sunday Times to ensure that next year our results will be included! So this time next year keep an eye on the website for further updates.
