If your child is going to be absent from school for any reason please email
 or call 0117 353 3190.

The student absence dedicated telephone number is:

0117 353 3190

This is the number for parents/carers to ring if they are keeping their child at home due to sickness.

You can also email:

When your child is absent from school please give us as much notice as possible.

When the absence relates to illness, you should contact school before 8.30am on the first day, and every subsequent day, of their absence.

If your child will be arriving late or leaving school during the day we must be notified of the appointment using the Student Absence line or email.  Your message must clearly state the time they are expected to return to school or the time they need to leave together with the reason.  If they need to leave school please state whether they will be collected from Reception or you have given your permission for them to leave school alone.  All students who leave school during the day must sign out at Main Reception and sign back in on their return.

Students will be marked unauthorised if we have not been informed of the appointment prior to them needing to leave school

Absence During Term Time

We would encourage parents and carers not to take their children out of school during term time. Every day of your child's education counts.  If holidays during term time are necessary, then a request must be using the request form below as early as possible and at least 10 working days in advance.  In some cases, parents and carers will be asked to discuss the reasons for extended school holidays.

Absence Request Form

All absence requests submitted to the school must be made using the ‘Request for Student Absence Form’, with a minimum of 10 working days notice. Click here to download the form.

This form must be returned to the school for the attention of Mr N Lind, Deputy Headteacher as an attachment to an email sent to Alternatively, parents can hand in a completed paper copy to our Reception Team. Absence Requests are considered on an individual basis each week. We hope this system will enable us to respond to your requests more swiftly.
