Year 8 Big Pit Trip

Year 8 students visited Big Pit in Wales as part of a Humanities unit on the Industrial Revolution. Students Ella and Meg describe their visit:

“Year 8 students went to the famous coal mine in Wales, Big Pit. Before going down the mine we went through the museums which showed the improvements of the mine through history and we saw the miners’ showers. Down the mine a guide took us on an underground tour and showed us where the miners worked and showed us the dark and damp conditions. Some people loved the experience but others hated it as they were very scared!” .
